I have always loved mermaids. I lived in Jamaica long ago and I thought of them often at that time. Now I have become concerned about the pollution of our oceans. So, my mermaid Esme is a statement about those concerns. If we let the pollution continue at its current rate mermaids will become extinct, along with many other species of ocean life, Our lives will then be without the lovely idea of mermaids, and much sadder for it. So, please consider all the things Esme represents, colorful imagination and a sense of playfulness and our responsibility to our environment and hers.
