ARTblast @ ARTworks ARTblast @ ARTworks provides an opportunity for children from 6-12 to sample a range of different mediums. Our goal is to help children establish a creative outlook on life and art while having fun. Class fees include instruction, studio use, materials and small snack everyday. Non-refundable. Balance due on Monday of week signed up for The day will be broken up according to the age of the children. In the mornings (8-12:30) we will have our six thru eight year olds program and our nine thru twelve year old will be from 1-5:30. ***Must have a minimum of six students per age group per week to offer each class, if the week you sign up for is canceled you will be refunded your deposit and you will be notified right away. To register, Contact 843-379-2787 WEEK 1 ~ July 6-10 Acrylic Painting and all its Wonder During this week students will be pushing acrylic paint to its full potential. We will be working with canvas, paper, and even fabric. We will be creating art by using hand-made paint brushes, water guns, and even bubbles. Come and join us as we push paint to its full potential. WEEK 2 ~ July 13-17 Pop Art using Mixed Media & collage Sign up for pop art week and experiment with all types of mediums. Students will create their very own pop art collages using mediums like: magazines, photos, paint, cardboard and many other fun mediums. Come join the fun of mixing media. WEEK 3 ~ July 20-24 Drawing pushed to the Limit Push the basic concept of drawing to the limit. Students will create drawings using charcoal, pastel, and pen. Students will also learn about batik, and will create a batik of their own. WEEK 4 ~ July 27-31 Sculpture Is For Everyone Learn the basic techniques of sculpture using paper Mache, cardboard, paper clay, and found objects. Students will learn about low and high relief and also about 2d and 3d artworks. WEEK 5 ~ August 3-7 Craft Students will learn how to create art that they can use in their everyday lives. Learn how to make beads out of polymer clay, how to weave, basic printmaking techniques, and more. Come get your craft on.
