THEME WEEKS June 20-July 22
For Children Ages 6-14

ARTblast at ARTworks provides an opportunity for children from ages 6-14 to experience art from many different art mediums. Our goal is to help children establish a creative outlook on life and art while having fun. The ARTblast Dirctor, CJ Norwood, holds her degree in arts education and is the art teacher at Robert Smalls Middle School. Class fees include instruction, studio use, materials and a small snack everyday. Space is limited so sign up for the weeks that your child will enjoy. Schedule

The day will be broken up according to the age of the children. In the mornings (8am-12:30) we will have our six thru nine year old program and our ten thru fourteen year old program will be from 1 pm- 5:30. Each day the children will have two art sessions that run an hour and a half each.

Six thru Nine year olds
8:00-8:30- Drop off
8:30-10:00- First Session
10:00-10:30- Break/ snack
10:30-12:00- Second session
12:00-12:30- Pick-up

Ten thru Fourteen year olds
1:00-1:30-Drop off
1:30-3:00-First session
3:00-3:30- Break/ snack
3:30-5:00 Second session
5:00-5:30- Pick up

Week One - June 20-24
Acrylic Paint and all its Wonder

During this week students will be pushing acrylic paint to its full potential. We will be working with canvas, paper, and even fabric. We will be creating art by using handmade paint brushes, water guns, and even bubbles. Come join us as we push paint to its full potential.

Week Two - June 27-July 1
Make an Impression

During this week students will learn about the printmaking process and experimenting with different processes. Students will learn how to create mono-prints, relief prints, and even learn about how to make their own stencils. Come and learn all that printmaking has to offer.

Week Three - July 11-15
Collage Playground

During this week students will learn how to create mixed media artworks. Students will get to make their own papers, and then learn how to layer using collage and many other techniques. Come and join the collage playground!

Week Four - July 18-22
The Masters

During this week students will get a closer look at some of the most famous artists of all time, Van Gogh, Monet, Dali, Picasso, and Warhol. Students will then create using the masters and their art as inspiration.
